Wcześniej Antony Blinken oświadczył, że USA są gotowe do pracy dyplomatycznej, jeśli Moskwa zdecyduje się na deeskalację w sytuacji z Ukrainą.
W okresie od 3 do 8 marca szef Departamentu Stanu USA odwiedzi z wizytą Polskę, Mołdawię, Łotwę, Litwę i Estonię.
Ta podróż jest kontynuacją szeroko zakrojonych konsultacji i koordynacji z naszymi sojusznikami z NATO i partnerami europejskimi w sprawie trwającej wojny Rosji z Ukrainą, która była z góry przemyślana, niesprowokowana i nieuzasadniona. Pracujemy nad tym, aby wspierać kraje znajdujące się na pierwszej linii frontu, w tym Polskę, Mołdawię, Rumunię, Słowację, które są gotowe przyjąć uchodźców uciekających przed przemocą na Ukrainie – powiedział Blinken podczas przemówienia w Departamencie Stanu.
