    Legia Warszawa 26 sierpnia wywalczyła awans do fazy grupowej Ligi Europy, dość niespodziewanie pokonując w dwumeczu Slavię Praga 4:3. Dzień później odbyło się losowanie grup tych rozgrywek.Trudniej się chyba nie dało- SSC Napoli, Leicester City i Spartak Moskwa. To z nimi Legia Warszawa zagra w fazie grupowej Ligi Europy

    SSC Napoli (5. miejsce w poprzednim sezonie Serie A), Leicester City (5. miejsce w Premier League) oraz Spartak Moskwa (wicemistrz Rosji) – to zespoły, z którymi przyjdzie się zmierzyć w grupie D podopiecznym Czesława Michniewicza. Próżno szukać drugiego tak trudnego zestawu rywali.

    Napoli i Spartak to zespoły, z którymi mistrz Polski mierzył się już w ostatnich latach. Z Napoli w 2015 roku w fazie grupowej Ligi Europy, kiedy zespół prowadzony najpierw przez Henninga Berga, a później przez Stanisława Czerczesowa dwukrotnie przegrał: 0:2 i 2:5. Ze Spartakiem Moskwa kibice warszawskiej drużyny mają zdecydowanie przyjemniejsze wspomnienia, bo niemal równo 10 lat temu zespół prowadzony przez Macieja Skorżę wygrał na Łużnikach 3:2, choć przegrywał 0:2 (w pierwszym meczu było 2:2) i dzięki temu – dzięki słynnej już bramce Janusza Gola w doliczonym czasie – awansował do fazy grupowej Ligi Europy.

    Mistrz Polski zagra teraz w grupie C. Pierwsza kolejka fazy grupowej zaplanowana jest na 16 września, ostatnia – 9 grudnia. 17 i 24 lutego odbędzie się 1/16 finału, 10 i 17 marca 1/8 finału, zaś 7 i 14 kwietnia – ćwierćfinały. Mecze półfinałowe będą miały miejsce 28 kwietnia i 5 maja, a 18 maja odbędzie się wielki finał.

    Jak wyglądają inne grupy?

    A: Olympique Lyon, Rangers FC, Sparta Praga, Broendby
    B: AS Monaco, PSV Eindhoven, Real Sociedad, Sturm Graz
    D: Olympiacos, Eintracht Frankfurt, Fenerbahce, Royal Antwerp
    E: SS Lazio, Lokomotiv Moskwa, Olympique Marsylia, Galatasaray
    F: Sporting Braga, Crvena Zvezda, Łudogorec Razgrad, FC Midtjylland
    G: Bayer Leverkusen, Celtic, Real Betis, Ferencvaros
    H: Dinamo Zagrzeb, Genk, West Ham United, Rapid Wiedeń

    Finał Ligi Europy zaplanowano 18 maja przyszłego roku w Sewilli.
